Partnering with WHC

We will be able to significantly improve homeownership opportunities for low and moderate income families when we partner together... integrating our resources, energy, and expertise, while working toward a common vision of the future.  As the most comprehensive clearinghouse of information relating to first-time homebuyers with less weatlh, Washington Homeownership Center is uniquely positioned to provide leadership and a forum for developing partnerships between for-profit and nonprofit housing and lending professionals that have a stake in improving our state's current, and dismal, homeownership ranking of 45th out of 50 states.

We believe that the keys to success in making a significant improvement in homeownership for our neighbors with less weatlh, are twofold:

  • develop corporate partnerships based on strong, and sustaining, business models that also help those in need
  • refer our clients to individuals - not the institutions.  In order to be successful, our clients need to connect with professionals who are committed to serving first-time homebuyers with less wealth, understand first-time homebuyer assistance programs, and are willing and able to spend the extra time and effort sometimes needed to overcome barriers and reach homeownership.

Every lender and lending officer is unique. Corporate cultures foster or inhibit volunteerism. Lending consultants are motivated by sales or serving others. In reality, we need both funds and energy to succeed. If you or your company can best help by writing a check, we will use those funds efficiently in meeting our goals. If on the other hand, you are able to get more integrally involved in Washington Homeownership Center through sponsorship of a particular program or event, providing WHC with an in-kind donation, or volunteering your time, we would welcome that involvement and partnership as well.

Please contact our Executive Director to hear more about exciting WHC initiatives and programs, and how you and your company can get involved.
