Since 1996, Community Home Ownership Center (CHOC) has had strong relationships with members of the lending industry.  Members of the SMBA (Seattle Mortgage Bankers Association) originally founded CHOC to provide information and referral to low and moderate income first-time homebuyers in the Puget Sound region.  In 1999, our mission was expanded statewide and now, Washington Homeownership Resource Center (WHRC) continues to build on that mission as the state's most comprehensive clearinghouse of information relating to first-time homebuyers with less wealth.
